Day school

New Goloka Community School (NGCS) is a registered non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status, and is also a registered homeschool with the state of North Carolina.

As a registered homeschool, NGCS is required to submit standardized progress tests once per year to the state to satisfy the academic requirements. NGCS will use the California Achievement Test (CAT). We will work toward private school status upon occupancy of the new dedicated school facility in 2016.

This is a tuition-based day school. A modest dress code is applicable and all children must bring an appropriate vegetarian lunch. Transportation to/from the school is not provided, but carpooling can possibly be arranged. Upon enrollment, a parent/student handbook will outline all applicable policies and procedures.

Subjects include, but are not limited to, English, Sanskrit, Language Arts, Math/Algebra/Geometry, Science, Geography, History, Social Studies, Critical Thinking, Public Speaking, Vaisnava Etiquette, Music, Arts/Crafts, Physical Education, Devotional Arts (including studying Bhagavad-gita As It Is, Srimad Bhagavatam, Nectar of Instruction, Caitanya Caritamrta, and other scriptures as required), Deity Worship, and, perhaps most importantly, bhajans/kirtan/japa meditation.

We follow the NC suggested requirement for 180 days (or 900 hours) p/yr of academic instruction, but not as a year-round school. Scheduled days off do not necessarily include federal holidays, but are consistent with some of the breaks that the local schools provide. We will conduct class on all major festival days (except during the extended summer break) to immerse the children in preparations for that day.

Please support Vaisnava primary education! New Goloka Community School is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and your donation is tax-deductible. TIN 46-3549188.
